FELL IN LOVE WITH A KITTY AND WANT TO ADOPT? HERE’S HOW

Step 1: The Love Story Begins

After spending time in our café and meeting your future feline soulmate, it’s time to make it official! Fill out your Adoption Application — you can do this right here in the café or online.

Step 2: A Message from the Matchmakers

Within 1–3 days, one of our magical Adoption Coordinators will reach out (via email or phone) to chat and learn more about your home and heart.

Step 3: Seal

Once you’re approved, we’ll send over your Adoption Contract along with payment details. After the contract is signed, payment is complete, and everything is purrfectly squared away, you’ll be invited back to the café to reunite with your new furry companion(s)!

*Please note: Adoptions are only finalized on Mondays.*

Step 4: The Homecoming

Arrive with a pet-approved carrier for your new royal. You’ll then begin a 7-day “sleepover” to make sure it’s a truly purrfect match for both of you.

Sydney’s Sanctuary Adoption Contract

1. Purpose

This agreement is made between Sydney’s Sanctuary and the adopter named above for the purpose of transferring ownership and care of the above-named cat.

2. Care & Welfare of the Cat

The Adopter agrees to provide the cat with:

A safe, loving, and permanent indoor home.
Proper nutrition, clean water, and regular veterinary care.
Protection from abuse, neglect, and unsafe environments.
No declawing or surgical alterations for convenience or aesthetics.

The Adopter understands that declawing is inhumane and permanently harmful to cats.

3. Lifetime Commitment

Animals are for life. By adopting this cat, the Adopter is making a lifelong commitment to provide love, care, and medical treatment for the lifetime of the animal—which can be up to 20 years.
Sydney’s Sanctuary and its rescue partners are always available to answer questions or assist with behavioral or care-related concerns.

4. Return Policy

Within 7 Days: If for any reason you wish or need to return a cat you’ve adopted from us, you may do so within one week for a full refund of the adoption fee.
After 7 Days: After that—be it months or years later—if you need to give up your Sydney’s Sanctuary cat for any reason, you must return him or her to Sydney’s Sanctuary.
We cannot refund the adoption fee, but we will ensure your cat is placed in a new, loving home.
This policy ensures that none of our cats ever end up on the streets or in a city shelter again.

5. No Transfer of Ownership

The Adopter agrees not to sell, abandon, or give away the cat to any person, rescue, or shelter. If rehoming becomes necessary, the cat must be returned to Sydney’s Sanctuary.

6. Follow-Up

Sydney’s Sanctuary may contact the Adopter for follow-up updates on the cat’s well-being. The Adopter agrees to provide reasonable updates or information as requested.

7. Legal Terms

The Adopter assumes full responsibility for the cat upon signing this contract. Sydney’s Sanctuary shall not be held liable for any damages, injuries, or costs resulting from the cat’s behavior or health after adoption.
